Edfu.

It was 8 am and we rested after passing the grueling first day in Egypt during the visit to Luxor. We were ready for a new day of excursions: the first in Edfu, a small town on the banks of the Nile as we shall see later, the sun would also be a discomfort guest during the day. After leaving the boat, our guide took us to a horse-drawn carriages serve to make us the way to the temple of Edfu.

And so, in two carriages, we enter the city (if it can be called so), an example of underdevelopment and Islamt. The main streets had a very poor infrastructure, with rubbish all over the place, buildings and shops, ramshackle, which seemed to end up suffering a bombardment. For their part, local residents, with ragged clothes and women entirely covered with the veil.

And we came galloping to the temple of Edfu. I say at full gallop for a small tip because our coaches did a real chariot race through the streets of the city. For technical information about the temple of Edfu, visit this link.

Also you could see a meter (Nilometer) the waters of the Nile, with which the Pharaohs fixed taxes in each year as more or less linked the rise of the river Nile with the possibility of higher yields.

After the obligatory pictures, we left the temple when the temperature was becoming stifling. Thus, at 10 am we were back in our boat, watching the other tourists starting the road to the temple. Once again we were grateful to have got up early for our excursion.Once on deck, beer of rigor and a swim in the pool watching the activity "commercial" in the streets of the city.

At noon set sail for Kom Ombo, enjoying along the way with panoramic unspeakable. Here you can see a small sample.

After lunch, a nap before the afternoon excursion to Kom Ombo.
